just got a 1996 Dodge dakota with the 3.9 v6 it starts up and runs fine. But if i drive somewhere and stop and turn the engine off for 45 minutes to an hour and a half and it will start fine but then sputter and sounds like it wants to stall for mabye 15 seconds. if it sits for longer than an hour and a half then it is fine or if i start it up less than 45 minutes it is fine, i just cant seem to find out what the problem is any one have any ideas.

Could be the IAC opening too much, mine did it on cold starts for about 10 seconds with the stock computer, sounded like a lumpy cam. Check for codes?
