The Canadians will get that, ;)

It's a 1998 XLT 4L 4x4, and I love it! Got it in 2006 with 27,000 miles on it. It got one oil change per year, it was mint. So I have put another 110,000 miles on it, but kept it in great shape.
I love the thing. It's my 2nd Ranger, the 1st was a tough-ass single cab RWD. So my neighbour wants to buy it for his son, about 16. Great truck for the kid, but what would I even ask for it, I have never considered selling it, but I could use a full sized p/u.

Any thoughts? Pix of Ranger Gord I and Ranger Gord II attached.

Might want to consider how you, this 16yo kid & his dad will feel
when the kid wrecks the truck a few days\weeks after getting it?

Mabey a bit dramatic lol. Growing up I knew more kids that didn't wreck their first car than those that did.. and the ones who did were douchebags who drove around drunk right after school let out.

So.. in my experience.. as long as the kid isn't a douche he should be alright lol.

The truck of my dreams, A clean, long cab, pushrod 4.0 4x4 STOCK ! In a more perfect universe we could exhange Rangers and you could give the kid the Rat to break . I'M 2200miles down I 90E from you. Life is wasted on the young

SuperCab 4.0 4x4 is running between $4-5k in flatlands. Towards top end if they are still Alberta plated and lower km.

I think it really depends on where you live and the market for compact pickups in the area. Out here in Idaho where people hunt, fish, camp, etc. people love these little pickups because they can go pretty much anywhere with them so they fetch a premium when they're in good/very good condition. They make great hunting and fishing rigs....and great first vehicles for kids too....hell my first vehicle was an 84 Ford Ranger XL 4x2 regular cab, loved that truck, and if it weren't for the EEC-IV crap going haywire I'd probably still have that truck, back then I had no clue about that stuff and sold it for $700...was worth a hell of a lot more than that, it was in excellent condition inside and out other than the normal Ford dash cracks LOL.

Probably $3-4k maybe?

Write AS IS on bill of sale...........................

I have fixed and sold cars and trucks to friends, and strangers without issues, since high school, lol, so for 45 years at least
I sold a car to a neighbor and it was NOTHING but TROUBLE...............its a USED CAR, AS IS no warranty, lol
So just a "heads up"

@wildbill23c : I was quoting what it would demand on open market in local area; I grew up just down hiway 39 from Moose Jaw, still have relatives there. :)
I sold a '98 Ranger S/C 4.0/Auto 4x4 for $4k just a few months ago and they turned around and flipped it for $5k a month later (their kid wanted a Rav4).

You should try selling to relatives "AS IS". It means NOTHING when it breaks down a couple years later.

@RonD: You've got 5 years on me.

When I'm done with a vehicle it gets sold "AS IS" to the crusher LOL. I drive them till its no longer feasible to fix them....dealers don't give you anything for trade in so I just keep driving them till they don't drive anymore LOL.
