2010 4x4 sport model has so far return 20.9 and 21 MPG combined driving with 55/45 street/highway driving.
Anyone one else getting great mileage with the 4.0l?

The Ranger mileage and especially the 4L is VERY dependent on driving style. My truck is probably one of the worse cases stock with 4L, auto, 4x4, 4.10 gears and 255/70-16 tires (245/75-16 blizzak snows right now).21 combined with a 4.0/4x4? Maybe with GWB or Obama math, maybe. Could never understand how forum posters get better fuel economy than everyone else?
Most of the people I know get 18-19 overall with the 4.0/2wd and the 3 with 4.0/4x4s get about 16-17 overall. My new work truck is a 2010 Ranger XL 4.0/4x4 and it gets 16 mpg.
Our fleet manager would love to know how you guys get 21 mpg.

You mean a stock Ranger? Right? I have 33's and 4:10 and I get right at
300 miles on a tank of gas city/highway normal driving and not punching it at every traffic light or stop sign and not hauling a trailer or a boat of course. I add 14 gallons of gas at 300 miles watching the trip-odometer and I still have t least a few gallons left in the tank. My tank is supposed to be 17 gallons. My wife said this was pretty good for a lifted truck.
200 miles on 14 gallons sounds good. I want to go to 33's but don't want to kill my gas mileage too bad and I've been thinking that 33's changes the gears might even out the large tires and sounds like it is in your caseYou mean a stock Ranger? Right? I have 33's and 4:10 and I get right at
