I have a 1997 Ford Ranger and I noticed a few days ago that the AC had completely stopped working (no cold air, compressor would not engage). Hooked up my manifold gauges and the system was sitting equalized at about 20psi. I added some R134a to get it back up to normal and after about 2 days it had all leaked back to about 20psi.
In an effort to identify the leak, I recharged again (and added some UV dye). After refilling the system I turned the engine off and heard an unmistakable leaking sound from the high-side port. Didn't even need to use the UV flashlight.
I honestly don't remember what it looked like before, but now it looks like a bulging rubber bulb - and it leaks unmistakably. I guess I need to replace the value, but I've never done that. Can I use something like this:

or
http://www.amazon.com/Mastercool-MAS81290-Universal-Remover-Installer/dp/B000TQ6PE0/?tag=959media-20
and
http://compare.ebay.com/like/200779444758?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y&cbt=y
If these are not right, can someone please advise what I need to replace the valve?
Thanks,
Aaron
