All I've ever done was remove the upper bj pinch bolt, hammer in a cold chisel (to pull the knuckle off of the adjuster), andhammer in a smaller cold chisel into the gap in the adjuster. That way everything should be able to move freely from each other. Add in some spray lube and some hammering and prying, and you shouldn't have any problems
