I`m just curiouse because i,m an avid hunter and enjoy the outdoors. I don`t plan on doing real seriouse off roading becuase this is my main vehicle and not my toy.
When I had my '93 with the 2.3L in it, I went out to play with all the big trucks. As long as you're smart about it and know what you're doing, the truck will take you damn near anywhere you want to go.
yeah, use common sense.. get good tires and positrac or a locker. you'll be fine, i hunt out of my b2 and usually don't even use 4x4 and its diffs are open
i go out(or i should say used to) alot and never had a problem.....of course i never really had a problem with my focus offroad except for ground clearance haha. but with a leveling kit and locker you will have no problems as long as you dont do a "guys watch this" haha
I have a 2003 xl with the 2.3, 140,000 miles and I beat it like a redheaded step child and talke it just about anywhere. I have 235/75's that aren't even all terrain. I used to ride down dirt roads all the time after 6" rains on bald 225/70's. Just keep it movin and don't bottom out and you'll be good to go.
