how big should holes in bed liner be to access tie downs?

I bought a used Ranger that came with a relatively new or maybe very new bedliner from a company called Rugged Liners. The liner covers up the stock tie down points at the corners of the bed. I want to drill some big holes to uncover those points. Anyone know what size hole I need? I'd rather get this right on the first try

maybe somebody has a stock bedliner and could measure the diameter of the tie-down holes on that for me?

The stock tie downs are about 2-3'', and i think in my buddies dads Mazda's liner the holes are 3''. If i remember I'll double check for ya tomorrow.

my stepdads, tie down holes, are like 2"x2" and it makes it really hard to get rope through the tiedown metal

ROTOZIP, u wont have to measure, just follow the line of the hole....

i think he is talking about the ones down near the bottom of the bed.

but that does work good with a dremmel too! but only for the top bed rail holes, like you said.

Cool---is 3" big enough so that you can easily get hooks and or ropes to the tie downs? If yes, could they be smaller and still work as well?

i have had no problems yet but than again i do have fairly big ropes for the bike in the back
