Well y'all I hit a deer in my 97 tonight. The truck took it like a champ. I was probably going about 60 when I hit it.
My main concern is the frame. I don't think it pushed it in but I'm not too sure yet.

Alright y'all so I needed headlight housings to begin with but now I can't really put if off. Which brand do y'all recommend.

that looks pretty easily repaired.. I would just get a headlight from a junkyard, and you might get the grille and header panel that it all fits in as well. fender might be able to be popped out, the bumper can probably be straightened by loosening the mounting bolts (2 on each frame rail) and lifting it up/ pulling it out. I highly doubt your frame is damaged, but give it a good look over.

I fully support more deer permits for the hunters.

Price around, the JY's in my area charge about the same price for a used one as you can get a new one.

+1- Shop around. I needed to get a front bumper for my 92 XJ. I called around to a couple local yards in NJ, only one yard could "get it for me, and it only needed a little work" and he wanted to charge me $125, without brackets or anything. I ended up being out at a yard in PA for another reason, and found an entire front bumper with brackets and end caps for only $40, and all it needed was a coat of paint.

You can also look at placed like LMC truck, they may have what you need, and you wont have to go crazy trying to find it.

I swear by eBay. Search for the parts with the filter “lowest price with shipping.” I got a 97 grille, headlight surrounds, etc pretty cheap when I could find decent ones in the JY. & there are a LOT of these in the JYs! Just be careful delivery time is reasonable.

car-part.com
Is a good place to look for used parts as well

Of course front end parts are hard to come by used since most wrecked vehicles have front end damage

I agree, likely no frame damage since I assume the deer was standing/moving so the majority of weight impacted the grill not the bumper
The rad support doesn't look bent

Do your undies need to be replaced?

Sorry... had to... :icon_rofl:

Glad you're not hurt, damage to the truck looks easily fixable, I can't see any way there's frame damage there.

Core support and bumper both look straight so frame damage wouldn't even cross my mind...

I wouldn't fool with used parts unless you can buy them by the pound, because new front end parts are dirt cheap for these trucks. As others have mentioned, ebay and car-part.com are good places to look. I'll also throw 1A Auto and RockAuto out there. Put what you need in the cart on every site and go with the one with the lowest price on the total line. It's all the same taiwanese crap anyways.

Also, fordpartsgiant.com

& I agree with @fred m, load up the baskets & pull the short trigger. If not, take a long look at shipping costs and delivery times and time guarantees

& don’t forget the Rustoleum!

Thanks y'all for the kind words and great input. Here some more pictures of the damage for your viewing pleasure!

I priced aftermarket headlights housings and turn signal housings. 60 bucks total so a pretty good deal. I haven't checked into anything else because I just need the bare minimum to get me on the road.

RED Ranger, we need that baby back on the road for sure, there are so few "finished" Rangers on the road now, I see all these others driving around with just the colored(NOT red) Primer coat :)

Hey, if you just need the bare minimum

On the first one, just make sure you use one of those new 600 lumen hypertough flashlights from Walmart - $12. I bet you could split your phone charger to recharge the headlight while it’s re-charging your phone.

I’d send you mine and eat the postage, but I’m not sure it would work in weather since I used it to check the 87 4wd belt tension.

As always, my two cents, hope it helps
