high performance cam

I have a 04 Ranger with the 3.0. I have been thinking it would be cool to use a high performance cam in the truck, not only would it sound better but should add some HP to the 3.0 as well. has anyone heard of a company that makes cams for that engine or am i just crazy for wanting to cam a ford ranger engine? lol

I wouldn't do a cam swap without doing something to the heads as well... They just kind of go together, P&P the heads would really help the cam stretch it legs...

Nobody makes an "off the shelf" cam for the 3.0. They're all custom grinds. Morana has a few different options. If you want to stay stateside, Camcraft can grind one for you. I agree with the suggestion of some head work, and I'd add to it stronger springs.

Your going to need to look at valve springs also as well as a tune to get it running correctly.

I talked to Camcraft, good people, my only problem was he did not have a roller camshaft blank at that time & I did not have time to find another one, send it to him to be welded & ground all while my DD was setting in the garage.
