I have a headlight issue on my ranger. My low beams work just fine but I have no high beams. I have replaced the high beam switch on the colum but still no luck.

Check the wire connector just under the hood near the firewall. There are about 10 wires in that connection for the lights, horn, and a few others...the connectors tend to fall apart with time and the wires can actually fall out of the connector or become loose.

I went through a similar trial and error mode of troubleshooting until one night I lost all power on the highway...the main power line (big black/pink wire) was holding on by a single copper thread...so give them all a good look because it can easily be more than one wire falling out.

X2 ^
I've fixed that on both my '88's . . .
