hello everyone, im new here and couldnt find any threads related to my problem.
I bought my ford ranger with plug and play HID's in them, but one of the bulbs burnt out and i want to convert back to stock headlamps. however when i put them in the high beam dash light stays on when my headlights are on (not when my parking lights are on). when my switch is in the low beam setting my high beams are on and when my switch is in the high beam setting, my low beams turn on.
ive heard replacing the multi function switch or relays could work, has anyone else had this problem?

Hmm... I'd want to grab a volt meter and see which wires coming from the headlight switch actually have power in the different positions. Would be helpful to know if it's a switch problem or whoever installed the kit made changes in the wiring.

Sounds like you have the wrong bulbs. I don't remember the numbers, but I know there is a bulb that goes in, plugs in, but the terminals are all arranged different and it causes this exact issue.

IIRC it's because with the incorrect bulb the low-beam wire is hooked to what was supposed to be the ground pin of the bulb and it lets power feed back to the high circuit.

yes...this mkes sense...

When I upgraded my headlamps from the 92 style to the 96 wiring it required flipping the wires around even though the bulbs were the same style. (9004 vs 9006)...they will not work right if wired backwards.

okay, ill double check the bulbs and make sure theyre the right ones.
thanks guys
