I have to pull the heads on my 04 3.0 and do a valve job. So I figure I have to get head gasket set, head bolts, and the timing cover is also leaking a little bit so I’ll change that gasket also and then do the cam sensor shaft or whatever that is.

So what I’m looking for is recommendations on brands and places to get them at a reasonable cost. I’m in Phoenix and have an AutoZone close but funds are real tight so If getting them online is going to save significantly I need to do that. Felpro used to make good gaskets and I’m assuming they still do. I figure I’ll also change the plugs, wires, and the water pump while I’m in there.

So suggestions? Anything else I should change while I’m in there? I noticed Rock auto sponsor’s parts of this forum. How are their prices?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Rockauto's prices are good, but watch the freight.

They don't stock everything at one warehouse, for something as fairly cheap as gaskets if you have to get it coming from multiple places you might come out at a wash vs just driving down town and picking it up. Every different place stuff comes from adds another freight charge.

They have a thing that shows if it is coming from different places, keep an eye on that.

Well I stopped by AutoZone and for everything listed above plus a thermostat it came 300 bucks, but that didn't include the cam timing sensor shaft because he couldn't find it and I couldn't remember exactly what it was called.

So now I'll have to check out some of the online pricing to see what they go for.

Again, any suggestions on sites and brands would be appreciated. The upper end head gasket AutoZone sells is Felpro so that's good.
