So I took the plunge and started a 5.0 swap in a Ranger for my dad. He's going to run it for a few years then when he upgrades to a full-size, the Ranger will become mine.
Couldn't find a complete donor, but got a complete 5.0/trans/awd t-case from a guy out of a '99 Mercury Mountaineer. Unfortunately he didn't know we needed the throttle cable when he took it out of the truck and cut the throttle cable.
After working on the project on and off for a couple months, I'm finally down to ironing out the last few details before taking it to a dealer to have the computer handshaked with the PATS module and keys since the truck is a 2000 Ranger extended cab (I couldn't get the PATS module, keys and lock cyl out of the donor truck either, they were in a hurry to crush it).
But a throttle cable is a problem. I have two cables for a 4.0L but they're both proving to be too short by several inches. I tried several parts stores and was told that it's not available. Tried a several local junkyards and got laughed at. Tried Ford only to be told that it's a discontinued part.

So I'm appealing for ya'lls help. It sucks to come this far and be stopped cold right at the end (plus my dad is screaming that he wants his truck, lol).
