Here is the problem guys, 99 Ford Ranger XLT 4 Cylinder 2.5 L engine, 159K miles. I recently replaced the heater core approximately 1 year and 4 months ago. Now my heating core has gone bad again, the usual spraying of antifreeze on the windshield and constantly refilling of antifreeze. I'm just wondering what the heck happened? I did a coolant flush near the end of last summer and only drove about 12K miles between that flush and two weeks ago when it went out again. Could it be that I installed a bad heater core, or could my radiator be going bad and is just circulating rust build up from the tank? Any help would be greatly appreciated, once I can figure out the main source time to save and buy the parts and bust out a fun weekend...lol! Thanks for the help.

That's a bummer!

I had to replace mine before too. At $600-$700 bucks I opted to do it myself. That was a few years back though now and all is still good. I can't see why yours would fail so soon.

I would do as you said and really check for rust in the entire cooling system before installing the new one. Good luck.

first what r the two made out of, u cant mix copper and aluminum as they cause a small electric charge in the system which cause it to eat out the aluminum, this is a common thing to see in crown vic's, r u using the right GREEN COOLANT or a all type coolant.
