Tried posting in the wheel and tire forum, but got only two or three responses and nobody really ventured an opinion. Granted, I'll have the final say, but I'd like to get some of ya'lls thoughts.
The vehicle: I'm going to 35" tires (it has 33's on it now). I am not taking the 33's off these rims because the tires are still usable, but I don't think they will be if I dismount them and try putting them on other rims.
I keep waffling on what flavor of rim to go with (steel or alloy). The "soft 8s" that everyone and their brother seem to go with just don't tickle my fancy, I want something that isn't ridiculously common and suits the truck, I'm just not sold on what design or type of rim. I'm not overly worried about running alloys on it, the truck will see a good bit of street use and only mild off-roading (I have no desire to smash up a straight and nearly rust-free body - I'm building something else more suitable for that purpose). Please keep in mind that the color of the truck may or may not change... right now it's a blue camo pattern, but I haven't decided if it will stay or if it will be shot a solid dark blue metallic - I'd like my rim choice to look good either way.
