So I’m on a 5 day offroad trip a long ways from home. I have a major oil leak inside my engine bay. Right now the only source I can think of is the front main seal. BUT the oil has soaked the entire passenger side of the engine bay. It’s bad enough that it is coming from out of the hood. But the oil levels are still safe on the dip stick. AND I just changed the front seal a few weeks ago. What could it be? The front main?

If the oil level is still ok with that much oil splashed all around, are you sure it's engine oil? Have you checked power steering fluid level? Transmission fluid level? Brake fluid? Clutch?

Just thinkin'

It turned out to be the front main seal. I replaced it and it seems to be fixed. There was a small tear in about a 1/4 of the seal. It surprises me that it spewed that much oil on the passenger side only. Also why does this truck keep tearing front seals?

If it continually tears seals, they're either not being installed properly, or there's damage to the area around where the seal is causing it to become damaged and leak.
