Hello, ranger frame compatibility ?

My '94 supercab chassis has seen better days. Been sitting for several years with dirt packed in creveses since the Clinton administration.

The body is not rusted, I've got efi 302 ,aod,dana20, e.b. d44 and a nine. Not to forget the duff long arms. So now I want to do a few things different and swap all my parts over to a fairly clean frame.

I read somewhere '98 to ?(year) frame will work with the 94 body mounts. Only problem they had was with the '94 fuel tank.
Which I'm planning on a fuel cell. Can anyone concurr?

98+ frames are a bit different. A direct swap for your truck would be anything 97 and older for a supercab and 4wd... but since you have a SAS and are not worried about using the original gas tank, you *should* be able to make any frame from 86 (I believe that 86 was the first year for the supercab) to 2012 without too much work involved.

the main differences in the 97 and older and the 98 and newer is the spare tire carrier set up and a few cross members in the front to accomodate the IFS on the newer trucks. Most of that you won't have to worry about due to your modifications.

Non extended cab trucks got an extra 3 inches added to them in 98, so those would not swap over to an older generation truck.

Also for stock applications, 4wd and 2wd frames are different.
