Hello everybody! Specs first then story time.

1993 Ranger Stx 4X4 Supercab
4.0l v6 4spd Auto
Dark Plum

I'm back in a Ford Ranger!!! I needed a cheap and smaller work truck which got me thinking about a 99 ranger I got as a hand me down years ago. It had 260k whe given to me(older sisters), been totaled by insurance and bought back twice, no front bumper with the passenger side caved in from hitting a fire hydrant twice(yes twice). Most reliable thing I've owned.
Drove it 5 years, never changed the oil, brakes, or anything apart from tires and the radio. Despite that everything worked perfectly. Even when I was t boned one night I simply pulled it out of the road and sat in the icy ac until the police arrived. I loved that pos.
So I started looking. Want this one to be a little nicer or really I just wanted 4 wheel drive. Looked at a couple until I saw this raggedy little purple pickup with a funny strip on the side. I knew it was the on.
Need up having to race 200 miles on mostly back roads on my old r1 because someone else was coming to look at it at 2 and it was already 8 am. With that knowledge I was off at a blistering pace. Made the journey in 2.5 hours with nothing but my riding gear and an envelope of cash.
Got there gave it a twice over. While on the test drive got to talking with the seller. Asking why it was being sold I learned it had been their uncles truck for years.
The previous Saturday he had a heart attack while working on a roof and was hospitalized requiring surgery. He came thru fine, but decided he wanted to go ahead and retire. He is 55 and this was his third heart attack. So he decided to sell everything and move back home to Mexico to be with family. In a crazy coincidence my father had also had his third heart attack and needed surgery that same Saturday.
Truck now has a story and I'm invested. I can't help it I'm a sucker for a good story. It's definitely on the ruff side 4x4 isn't working, one window doesn't work, ac isn't working, arm rest is missing and it's got a few good dents. These can all be fixed, and we'll be. Already used this forum to diagnose a few things and get myself to the starting line. Hope to be helped and helpful while on here. Long story but thanks for reading if you made it this far.
