My name is Daven and i live in a smaller city named Moose jaw (in Canada). I have been on this site for a little while now asking questions and trying to get a feel and understanding for this kind of stuff. I am 16, so you can imagine how much i know about vehicles and much of the other stuff on this site. I bought a 1989 Ranger STX 4x4 (2.9L Standard). It is Black with red factory decals on it. Has some rust on the back panels, and the previous owner must have tried to cover up the bumpers and other part's rust since it is starting to chip away now (Bumper and everything is painted black with a few noticable chips if u look good at it). I also switched out the stock 215/75R15s for the 235/75R15s that i had laying around to give it more of a offroady look. Spent 1100 on it and its a great little truck for the price, but im obviously looking to "beef" it up a bit :P

Basically, I want to swap in a v8, raise it up a few inches, and put on something around 32" tires or something like that. Planning on getting the clear signal lights and headlights, keeping taillights the same since it fits the Black and red theme of the truck. I want to do duals probably once i get the v8 (currently just have a glasspack my buddy gave me for a more throaty and loud roar). All i have done so far to it is switched out the stock intake box and filter, and hooked a CAI cone to the hose lol. I also cut off the a/c belt and will be later on getting a electric fan to take more stress off of the engine. I know neither of these do much, if anything, but it at least improved how it sounds for free.

I apreciate all the help you guys have given me before on this site, and for the future stuff as well. Great site you guys have here :D

I dont have a way at the moment to upload pics, but i am working on it ;)

Welcome to the forums Daven. We'll be waiting for the pics

Welcome to TRS~!

Sounds like you have a nice truck to start things off, and the mods you want to do will definitely increase your enjoyment...but...and there is always a butt...lol...things can get pretty expensive once you start...

I went the other way...had a 2.9 and swapped it out for a 2.3...but, then again, the original motor was wonky and I'd just rebuilt the 2.3...

Enjoy the truck...most of all...keep it simple and I'm sure you will learn what mods are good for you and your driving/life style...
