Great site! Lots of great info. Just bought a 1991 ranger 4x4 for my son's first Truck. Doing some work to it getting it ready for him to get his license.

Welcome to TRS. That's a good looking truck. Congrats

What he ^ said. Keep us updated on your progress.
Welcome to TRS.

Super clean looking 2nd gen. Kinda looks like it's already lifted and on bigger tires. Do you know if it is and if so the specs on the tires/lift?

That's a sweet first ride. Your son looks pretty damn happy about it.

That would be one to cherish and keep forever.

Welcome to TRS...

Thats a super cool first truck hopefully he keeps it a long time and learns tons eith it

We replace all the E Brake cables today. Just need to install a spartan in the 8.8 rear as soon as I figure out if its 28 or 31 spline axles. 3 55 88 1A24 is what's on the diff tag.

3.55 is gear ratio, no "L" in there so it's a regular open differential.
8.8 is the larger ring gear size.
1A24 is a date code

1990-2009 Rangers used the 28-spline 8.8.

Yep, 28 spline. Welcome to the forum and that's a nice looking truck!

Looks like a stock 28 spline to me.

What up with that spring in the second pic. Does it have a broken leaf?

That steering stabilizer up front looks a little more unlevel than I'm used to seeing. As does the whole tie-rod arrangement. Looks like it already has a drop pitman arm, but could use more drop? Course the camera angle could be messing with my perception. Anybody know who made the axle drop brackets with the alignment adjustment like that?
