Greetings: I live just South of Kansas City, retired after 32 years at Ford, many of those years building F - Series trucks.
I'm no stranger to trucks and 4x4's having owned a 66 F 100, a 77 bobtail Bronco, a 79 F 150 4x4, a 95 Explorer Limited, and an 89 F 250 Supercab 4x4 before my recent purchase of my 99 Ranger Supercab 4x4.
The 89 F250 is a fantastic truck for pulling and heavy hauling, with its 460, having served faithfully towing my 20 ft. ski boat to and from the lake, but with the criminal gas prices its 8 mpg has caused it to fall into disuse.
I am enjoying the Ranger, as it is fuel efficient enough to use as a daily driver, and having put 200,000 miles on the Explorer with basically the same drivetrain, I can vouch for the reliability.
I'm looking forward to learning more about our fine machines, and hopefully being a helpful asset myself through my experience with the company, my formal technical training in the past, and maintenance and repair experience on my own vehicles.
The screenname?.....Harley fanatic too, can help with tech on those too, a mod on aimag.com.
