ok how do i tell which side of my head gasket did i blow, and can i get away with changing just that one side? 2.9 v6

pull the plugs out and check them. one might look shiny and clean, and thats your prob cylinder.

Most times the head gasket blows from the head being too hot and cooking the gasket.. I NEVER change just one side.. With two new gaskets you know for sure the other one isn't about to go away.

yeah .... changing one side is ...... well ...... don't complain when the other side blows right away.

do you need to change all the other gaskets (i.e. intake, valve, plugs,) to change the head gasket? or is there a way to just change the head gasket? jw

Just buy a Felpro Head Gasket set, and it'll have everything you need except new head bolts...and you'll need new head bolts.
