Has anyone ever used a radiator from a Maverick?

I'm still deciding on which radiator to use, and one from an old 302 equipped Maverick looks like it may be a nice fit. It's small enough, and has a flange with mounting holes in it so it's easy to mount to my core support. It also has another small flange on the engine side to attach a fan shroud and electric fan. I don't want to mount the fan though the core of the radiator.

The only thing I may have to cut is just a little of the top of the core support for the radiator cap.

Proliance part number 433353 can be bought locally for about $230, or from Rock Auto for about $160. Here is an aluminum one from ebay that is for a Maverick. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories I'm open to other options and suggestions that will allow me to NOT mount the fan through the radiator core.

use oreilly pn #432416. thats what i use ... its 182.99 plus tax.....its core is 2 1/4 thick

I have a '96 5.0 Ex rad in the garage, it looks to be very similar to the 4.0 rad that is in my truck, other than the coolant lines. (mine is manual)

My truck runs at about 170deg with the 4.0 rad.

the expl rad will not fit in an 95-97 . its too wide . i work at an parts store ...

Too wide where? I was just eyeballing it.

To the original poster, I guess you could make most anything work if you try hard enough.

Lol, this thread is over a year old! I've already finished the truck and sold it.

I used a radiator from a '91 SuperCoupe and it worked great.

I've got a '93 supercab now with a bad 4.0, and a 460 to drop in it!!!
