I will need to leave my pickup outside for an extended period. I keep it covered with a custom fitted car cover from California Car Covers BUT Colorado is subject to sever hail on occasion. So I'm wondering how to protect this vehicle from hail damage.

I see offerings for tents and air bubbles but the HOA will not allow that.

Any other ideas - say bubble wrap or a thick blanket under the car cover?

There are car cover available that offer hail protection. When I used to keep my Lightning outside, I used one. It worked. Still have it. Rolled up and tucked behind the seats under the bed cover. I'm in Oklahoma, hail is pretty normal here as well. I keep all five of my vehicles garaged when home. I've not had to get one for the Ranger yet. The hood was chock full of hail dents, I replaced it with a steel hood. Other than the hood, the rest of the truck is fine.

Yes, double blankets under car cover should be enough for hood and top, if very worried then blanket and 1/4" plywood on top of blanket then car cover

Air mattresses work as well but they can lose air over time
