GUIDE: Installing HID (Xenon Discharge) Lightbulbs

ya blinnbuck89 kudos on the install, i'm doing the exact same thing only 55w and 6000k. Now i'll definately make sure to polish up my lenses and clean them very well. Also i was curious how you aim the lights better, i'm sure i could figure it out but any tips would be great? Some kind of screw or adjustment under the hood with the light housings?

dang, i knew the hid's were a bunch better than halogen, but your pix really...hem "shine light" on that. lol i am not going to lie, i kinda want some now!

Yeah, they are little posts that stick out of the back of the headlamp, that you must turn the loosen or tighten to move the aim point, this takes a while. There are 3 posts, one on top and two on bottom (those are a bitch). Basically, you loosen the top two a few turns and then tighten the bottom one. Pretty simple in theory. The posts are a strange shape they have what appear to pentagonal heads, not hex, so i used a small set of vice-grips. I'm sure they sell a tool for it somewhere but the vice-grips worked for me. I aimed mine in front of a garage door so I could see them go down. I didn't bring them down a lot, maybe 1inch @ 5 yards should do.

Thanks all, I couldn't find any good pics here that showed actual light output, they all just showed the headlight from the front which really doesn't help. If y'all have any questions just shout.

I know the relay harness I have on mine is from vvme also.

which HID do u buy from vvme with relay harness....

35w or 55w ? some guys told me it is better to get 55w HID kit with relay harness to prevent 55w ballast overload due to high temperature, power spike, and irregular voltage.. ...but no need to 35w HID...

I have the 8000k kit 35w. I wish I would have just spent a little more money and got the bixenon and not the single with halogen hi. the hi sucks. I made my own wire harness.

Okay...I get what people think about HID's being better, but then go buy a vehicle that has them in it. This is the only legal way of getting HID's in a vehicle. Aftermarket housings for HID's are not DOT or Transport Canada approved. Look into it. I know for a fact that City police, Sheriff's, and even the RCMP are starting to crack down on these vehicles, with some even being put into impound on the spot (depending on what else was found). By having these lights on your vehicle, it stands out a whole lot faster to the local police.

These HID conversions for stock lenses are not designed to be together. I know that they make them with the right base on the bulb, and some come with a high beam option. The stock lenses are not designed to reflect the HID light. It is not emitted from the bulb the same way as an incandecent bulb.

If you do this modification, then be advised that you lose all right to bitch about people giving you grief over it, or getting in trouble for it. Sorry...but getting tired of getting blinded on the road...

One set of BI-Xenon HID KIT can give you both High and Low beams with HID...but, sometimes, the three wires might be mistaken while instal that cuase your BI-XENON fail on working....:D

I just passed my inspection, and have not been pulled over for the lights. I do not have the BiXenon Kit. I wish I did. I made my own harness so there was no confusion on which wires were which. My high beam is a crap halogen bulb. An actual halogen bulb, not a vapor bulb or any other kind, just a standard halogen gas incandescent bulb. It is pretty bad. The lows look awesome though.
