Gear selector hard to pull

So my gear selector is hard to pull but loose in that it has a lot of play while in a gear. I was looking into the fix for the amount of play it has, but nothing on the hardness to actually pull into gear. I did see where someone was replacing the shift tube... Is that what I need to do? Also my indicator is broken and stuck one 1

That helps with the loose between gears, but what about he stiffness putting it into gears? Do the shift tubes wear out?

Here is a video of what it's doing. I tightened up the two screws (torx-30) at the end. That helped with the tightness. I think it was binding. But something is still loose. I feel like the whole shift tube shouldn't move, also it looks newer than it should, possibly it was replaced incorrectly?

I also found and fixed why the selector was off. The 4lo works, but it worked beforehand and this had nothing to do with it. I'm not sure why previous owner said it didn't work, user error I suspect. I tried following directions and it came right on.
