Gauge Swap Question

I'm looking to swap my Instrument Cluster for one of those Sport Trac White Face ones. I'm just wondering if it makes a difference what kinda transmission you have. my Ranger is a 5 speed but most of the clusters I've found online were from an Auto. I need to find out 2 things:
1- Will it work ok
2- if it does, is there a way to cover up the shifter letters on there

I've looked and looked in the forums but I haven't found anything that deals with this in particular. Thanks in advance.

yeah it works fine, about being auto, u just need to take out from your stock cluster the little plastic cover from the shift display and put it on your new cluster, thats it, dont forget to post pics

yea Honduras is right. I have a 5-speed and did this 2-weeks ago. your ranger already has the blackout tab; just transfer it over and Walla.............

oh dont worry i will post pics. but i like to do it when im done with the entire restoration. that way folks can sit back and have a beer and enjoy the movie of my full resto.
