I was told about this mod from a friend and have seen a thread about it on Fordrangerforumn.com but i though i would post my results and since i don't have an account there so Im here.
So all your basically doing is getting rid of the slack that develops on the gas pedal cable; with zip ties. I cannot believe that two zip ties have given me instant throttle response and have corrected issues that i though were due to my transmission.
Whenever I used to shift from Park to Reverse my truck would drop a couple hundred RPMs and it would feel like it lurched forward a little bit, GONE
Every now and then when down shifting i would get a loud clunk and stirring sound, GONE
In Reverse, sometimes it would feel like the car was jumping around and going in and out of gear, GONE
Im extremely relieved that these are not transmission problems, but i'm curious as if my transmission has been shifting great this whole time and it just felt like it wasn't? Or if it actually has been shifting horribly and this simple fix corrected it?
All in All i am extremely happy with this mod, and if your having any of these issues check this mod out. For a video just google search it and you can find a video but its extremely easy and worth it.
