FX2 vs FX4

You ever been down south around a swamp in summer? Theres mosquitos big enough down there to vampire a cat.

I'm fortunate to live in Middle Tennessee where we get four distinct seasons. The only thing we have every now and then is a tornado, but they are pretty rare.

I will say, summer is the dominant season. Seems like we get 2 months of winter, 2 months of spring, 2 months of fall, and 6 months of summer. From May into November, it can be pretty warm.

Nope. I don't remember anything like that from our trip to Arkansas.

I have met the state bird of Minnesota though.

Camped at Lake Darnell, Boy Scout trip early 00’s.

Dardanelle ? I think that is over close to Russellville ? Maybe in the SW Ozarks.

Yeah, thats it. It would have been in 2002. It had a big nuclear power plant on it. Went down there to go whitewater rafting, we got there and the river had pretty much dried up. Terribly hot and humid (as bad as it gets here) So we pretty much drove down there to pass out in our 90* tents at 2am, go see K19 to cool off (which was great since there was a huge reactor across the lake :shok:), go to a water park and fish.

And on the way back the assistant leader's new truck that was pulling the troop trailer kept knocking/pinging and losing power and we didn't know if it was going to make it back.

It was one of those trips... :yahoo:

Good times HAHA

Yep, gets 100+ with that humidity in june-july-august. Love it ! :icon_thumby:

I'm betting it will be less than 350 lb ft. Probably closer to 320. I'll test drive one but if it sounds like a fart under water I'll walk away.

My last turbo 4 sounded more like a jet than anything.

I'm a function over form sort of guy. I don't care if it sounds like a box of rocks. If it's reliable, gets decent fuel mileage, and has adequate power to merge on the highway without getting squashed by an 18 wheeler then I'm happy.

Most modern engines just barely have an audible engine noise, unless you get a mustang if the radio isn’t too loud you can just tell it is running and that is about it.

Just noticed something on the Ford.com page for the Ranger - I think it does show an FX2 truck, but it isn't labeled as such. I can make out "FX2" on the side of a truck in one of the pictures.

It appears to be externally similar to an FX4 - front air dam delete, tow hooks, front bash plate. Question is whether it has more skid plates - the articles that mentioned the FX2 package said it also comes with the locking diff, and maybe offroad shocks.
