I have a 1989 Ranger STX 4x4 2.9 V6 and I need a fuel pump sending unit.
The ford dealer wants $465.00 and Pepboys wants $100.00, each have a 1 year warranty.

Is the ford unit that much better or is there an alternate sorce for a factory unit?

Has anyone used an aftermarket unit with good results?

Please let me know, I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Thank you,

i put an aftermarket pump and sending unit in my 88 a few months back and she works great, i wouldnt worry about buying it directly from ford. think about how much you can do for your truck with the 365 you save.

also check autozone i picked up a pump and sending unit for 95 bucks

How soon do you need it? I am getting ready to scrap an 89 and I'll give you the entire fuel pump assembly. I don't know if it works, but I can check it out this weekend or next.. (Not sure when I'll be back in that part of town). Check the shipping from Burlington, NC (27217)
