ok just put new fuel pump and fuel switch relay in 1989 ford ranger 2.9. the truck has been sitting about a year. so I drained the gas installed new parts but the fuel pump still isn't kicking on, also when I test the pump I'm getting no power to the fuel pump. what else could it be beside relay and fuse??

Inertia sswitch, relay (fuel pump and eec), fuse.

Clutch/neutral switch? Does the starter engage?

Good call it was the Inertia switch, first ranger never heard of that before. It is running now. On side note I had a hard time trying to find a gasket for the thermostat housing. All the part stores only have a ring going around the thermostat. JW if anyone else had issue with that?

Thanks for the help guys 3rd time this website has saved me!!

As far as I kno know all ford's have Inertia switchs. The Inertia switch is usually the first thing I check even before I replace the fuel pump. :D
