I just decided to look up the axle codes for my 94 Explorer, and my buddy's 04 Ranger. I'm kind of mad now... I just learned that I have a L/S differential, with 3.27 gears...

So go get some new gears? 3.27's were really uncommon. Shouldn't be too hard to even find a pair of axles in a JY with better gears.

I have a set of 3.27 geared axles. The D-35 is gettin 3.73s and the 8.8 is getting put under the mustang.

Would it be easier to swap in the set of 3.73 axles or regear the current ones? I figure somebody must have an opinion here =D

Swapping the entire axle is easier then regearing the current axles.

That depends on who you are and what you know.

Little X is right though, it's probably just easier to find a set of 3.73 axles and pop them in.

you can do anything in a drive way with a floor jack and stands...I didnt have access to a garage for most of my life.
