Hello Folks,

I've got a '98 Mazda B2500 2WD and have been getting lots of squeak from the front passenger side.
At first I thought it was my stabilizer bar link (it had snapped), so I put a new one on. It didn't stop the squeak.

The sound only comes when the truck is bouncing back 'up' after being pushed down. I've shoved my head under to try to pinpoint where it is coming from but I can't seem to narrow it down. It almost sounds like it's coming from the coil. The sound itself is more metalic than plastic.

On a side note I have also been getting a creaking/squeaking from my steering some days. Oddly enough it isn't on extremely cold or hot days, and it doesn't matter if the truck is warmed up or not.

I'd be stupid not to think the two are related!

Any ideas?

Outer tie rod ends are the most common squeak on those trucks but it's usually more when turning. I'd bet that you have a bad lower ball joint, very common also especially if you have a lot of miles on it. Have someone bounce the truck while you try to pinoint it. A stethoscope helps a lot. You should be able to get one at most parts stores or Sears.
