- If it ain't broke, I can't fix it.
I just recently bought a '99 2WD standard cab that was wrecked when I got it. Front bumper was a pretzel and grille, header, and lighting all wiped out. The truck had a 2001 2WD bumper and valance on it.
It also had a 3" front spindle and rear block kit as well as a 3" body lift when I got it. I'm tall, but even I thought the body lift was a little too much, so I removed it. I bought a new 2001 2WD front bumper and valance and found that with the body lift removed and still running the 265/75R16 tires, I can't keep the tire from making heavy contact with the valence without pulling the bumper so far forward it looks out of place to the fender.
Do the 4WD or Edge bumpers or valance give more tire clearance toward the bottom? It appears that they do, but I don't have one to compare it to.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
