Since the rear brakes and myself are at a standstill, I redid my front ones and one of the pistons fell out of the caliper when i removed it. As I was looking I noticed that the boot has a hole in the back, is that supposed to be there? Or do i need a new caliper?

As a secondary note, why the heck did it pop out in the first place?

Are you calling the outer seal a boot? Shouldn’t have a hole in it. As far as the piston falling out, maybe the square seal on it was worn, or there was still some hydraulic pressure behind it.

If you have a drill hone, a caliper repair kit would solve your problems.

I don't have one of those; I ended up ordering a new caliper from O'Reilly's
