hey, when i take my foot off the gas pedal, the computer continues to feed gas to the engine until i bring the truck to a complete stop. sometimes i want to coast down a hill and it is just feeding gas to the engine the whole time. sometimes ill even just stop my truck all the way and then let my self coast down picking up speed.. but as soon as i hit 3 or 4mph, the computer starts feeding gas to the engine.

it used to do this a while ago so i cleaned out the air sensor, then it happened again a while later so i replaced it. about a year and a half later it is doing the same thing again

...also can i just bolt on a towhitch reciever bar thing? or do i need to fabricate and weld something on there? I just want a lil 1000lb trailer to take in scrap every once in a while

Um... Anytime your engine is on and running, the injectors are going to be firing, thus feeding fuel to the engine.

Not to be rude, but I don't think you are explaining it correctly.

Also, hitch receivers are an easy to find item. They bolt to the frame rail and barely stick out just below your current bumper.

it starts to feed the engine A LOT of gas. like if it into gear i will start to accelerate.

good thing im not driving an automatic :p

I would check the TPS(throttle position sensor), and the throttle plate spring, engine air flow can hold it open if spring is not tight or if throttle plate rod is hanging up.

And quite a few engine computers turn the injectors off if engine RPMs are above 1,500 and you take your foot off the gas, the injectors are restarted at about 1,100rpm at idle level.
This saves fuel, and is one of the benefits of fuel injection over carburetors.

I believe there was a TSB about high or racing idle on trucks with the 2.5. I can't remember what the fix was (besides maybe a new TPS) but maybe that'll help point you in the right direction.
