Flushing the steering on a Ranger with rack and pinion.

The fluid in the power steering in our 2000 Ranger is black. So I would say it needs a good flush. I have never flushed a steering system with w rack before. Is there anything I should know before I start? What I the procedure to make sure I get all that old fluid out?
