Hey all

I'm looking to get some lights to mount over the front bumper of my Ranger as I do a lot of night driving and don't find the factory high-beams illuminate terribly well. I'm torn between floodlights to help illuminate the ditches/side of the road better, or spots to cast bright light farther down the road. In your experiences, which would be more valuable? Any input is appreciated

I have a pair of KC Daylighters with a driving pattern that throw all the light i could ever want for night driving.

Get you a led lightbar with a flood/spot combo and have the best of both worlds

I run the apollo series, in front I have 2 driving lights and then on top I run 4 spots so I can get plenty of range.

60 degree LED Floods (with at least 6 LEDs) will light up the sides nicely, showing you the deer.
30 degree Floods give a little better light forward, not much to the side.
Spots light up further forward, which I've never needed in normal driving on the road.

Compare to 30 degree, below

Perhaps a 60 degree Flood on the passenger side and a 30 degree Spot on the driver side? Cheap and the best of both?

Thanks for the input guys. I decided to pick up 2 inexpensive flood-pattern lights with 55W bulbs, and grabbed some 100W replacements in case I decide they aren't bright enough. I'll wire everything to handle the bigger bulbs
