First off I just want it to be know that I am just enough of a mechanic to be dangerous. I am all self taught, learned out of necessity not because of passion. So with that being said, I have a 99 3.0 flex fuel 4x4 automatic. I replaced my flex fuel sensor and also the fuel filter. Now I can’t get it to start. Do I need to prime the file system? If so, how do I do that? Thanks for any info you guys can give me.

No, just cycle the key on and off 3 times, that will push most of the air out

Did you maybe pull out the fuel pump fuse or fuel pump relay to reduce fuel pressure to change the sensor and filter?
And not put them back in?

Nope, I did not know I should have done that with the fuses so that is not the issue. And I did cycle the key many times and have drained the battery pretty good. So now I need to get a charger and charge it. Thanks for the info and I will post when it’s running again.

Spray some fuel directly into the engine when you can crank it again, if spark is OK it will start
Once its above 400rpm the fuel pump will come on full time
Cranking speed is 200rpm

Yes, when working on the fuel injection system its good to pull out the fuel pump fuse(or relay) and start the engine, engine will die when there is 0 fuel pressure so its safe to remove fuel line connections without getting sprayed with fuel
Don't have to, doesn't hurt anything, just messy sometimes, lol

lol. I’ll have to remember that for if there is a next time. And thanks aging for the info

Got it running. Ended up having a bad crank position sensor on top of the flex fuel sensor going out. But up and running again. And thanks again for the knowledge and help.
