My credo
Clean your room before you criticise the world.
What do you guys use to fight rust and moisture issues with your firearms. I just learned about ballistol and it seems to be quite fancy stuff even smells bad too!

Live where it's dry ;)

I used Break-Free. Seems to work fine.

Keep the metal lightly oiled and wipe it down anytime you touch the metal. Don't soak it so that oil absorbs into the wood. The oil will eventually ruin the wood.

Any oil will work. Balistol is good. Break-Free is a CLP variant. That works too.

I love balistol. That, and Hoppe's Elite oil are about all I use. A quick wipe of the exterior metal surfaces with a rag moistened with balistol, a patch with the same down the bore, and a bit of oil on the moving parts - done!

Along with keeping everything clean and lubed, I put bullfrog rust blocker strips in all my cases. They use some kind of voodoo magic, or enchanted spell to keep anything near them from rusting. They work good in tackle boxes too. They only last about a year and only in a small sealed container so wouldn't work in a full sized gun cabinet, but are great for individual hand gun cases.

Another vote for Hoppes

Generally Lucas gun oil for smokeless. Remoil sometimes when I need it to spray or something thinner.

For blackpowder olive oil with bore butter in the bore.

I bought a big can of Rusty Duck years ago... still use it.

Bore Butter on my in-line muzzle loader.
