I vote to leave it silver but if you really want to change it i think it would be sweet to tape off a couple stripes of the silver and then lay the blue over it. Instant racing stripes with minimal work.

I did the locker and tire carrier at the same time and i think i lost 2mpg. So i dont know no which one affected it.

I cant understand why a locker would reduce your fuel econ, unless clocking fuel econ of a constant burnout possibly.

Actually its not that heavy, its less than 100 pounds, i almost put it on by my self but i couldnt balance it. Id like to see pics when you finish your hood!

I wouldnt say i can tell a difference as far as power, are wind drag i already need gears ( ordered them today ) I did the locker and tire carrier at the same time and i think i lost 2mpg. Its tought when my tranny was out i pushed the trunk around with my super duty pushing on the tire gate.

No, he had the FX2 ones on there when it was 2 wheel drive, and the FX4 when he went to 4 wheel drive.

i like that truck. and the 4x4 conversion is looking interesting. I would paint the hood blue but that is my opinion. good luck on the rest of it.

Im thinkin im gona do a blue hood with a silver ford emblem on it. Got all my gears and re build kits yesterday, the journey continues lol.
