I’m wondering if anyone has deleted the feedback solenoid on a Carter YFA feedback carb. My computer died and is not providing input to the solenoid. The truck doesn’t have to pass any smog inspection so no air pump or thermactor are installed. I noticed that the Carter YFA carbs available for the 4.9 have a plate where the feedback solenoid goes and was thinking I could do the same on my carb and go with a leaner main jet. Any suggestions are welcome.

Could probably just order a new carb for an older model...like a 78 pinto. Then you would also have to swap out for a duraspark distributor.

If you just try to delete the feedback it wont run right

I would just install a Motorcraft 5200 off of a 70's 2.3L. They work well on my 2.3L Mustangs.

Ton's of 250 Granadas and Mavericks had non feedback YFA's, if you can find one. It seemed to me that the 2.3's with YFAs had more bottome end torque. I'm not sure if you'd need a different intake to run a 5200 or just a different spacer but I'll bet someone on here knows.
