It's just an Explorer drivetrain bolted into a Ranger. He doesn't claim it to be factory.

I was wondering if he worded it wrong or of the truck is stuck in 4wd.

Given that the Explorer donor was probably AWD, sounds like he just used that case.

'06-'07 Ford Ranger STX had the "Mazda" bed and low front valance.

So while this one might not have been "born" a Ranger, nothing says it isn't.

No, Rangers never had the square-ish flares above the wheels like the B-series did, I think 1998 was when Mazda started using that body style

Yeah, the later Rangers did use that bed.

I don't think the flares are factory for anything.

Belt routing on the radiator support is wrong for the engine too.

I didn't know any Rangers came with that bed... or had the unique b-pillar/window. To me this certainly looks like a B-series truck.

Same, I've never seen that setup outside of the Mazda trucks.

I've seen Rangers with that bed, BUT NEVER with the Mazda style pillars.

@85_Ranger4x4: Those fender flares are the exact same ones as on my daughter's '08 B4000 4x4, so they are a stock item too.
