So in my 2005 xlt F-150 5.4 v8 the engine at anything above 3500 RPMs the engine will act like its in neutral and wont give it any more power to the engine, also at around 1500 RPMs the truck sort of cuts out, the rpms dont drop or anything but it kinda feels like going down a really bumpy road, i dont have the first clue as to why it would be doing this, any ideas?

|I deleted your other thread on the same subject. It can get confusing with two.

First thing I would do is scan for engine codes. If you don't have a scanner most auto parts places will scan for free hoping that they can sell you the fix. Get it scanned and report back.

A parts store scanner won't give you the information you need.

The first part sounds like a rev limiter. That would only be active in park or neutral though.

The second symptom is a misfire from a dying coil. You need to find someone with a scanner that does mode 6 or power balance and find out which cylinder is causing the problem. Then replace the failing coil and it's spark plug.

i forgot to mention, the 1500 rpms misfire thing only happens sometimes, not all the time.
