I picked up a '99 4WD Ranger that already has a '97 Explorer V8 swap.
I'm concerned about getting it inspected here in Pennsylvania, especially since it has an older ECU than the body.
Is the '99 Explorer ECU interchangeable with the '97 harness?
Pa also has some rule where the car's VIN needs to match the ECU's VIN.
Can I buy a new Explorer ECU and have the Ranger's VIN written on it electronically?
If not can a Ranger ECU control a V8?
How is everyone else in Pa getting inspected?
