My credo
If you ain't first you're last
So if you've cranked your t bars and notice the ride quality sucks there is a way to return the smooth feeling your truck use to have. The shocks are completely (or nearly) maxed out. What you want to do is put spacers in there to make them have more travel. What I did was take some oversized nuts that cleared the shocks' threads to space the top mount down 1". Then I went down to the hardware store and bought bolts for the bottom mount that were 1/2" longer than stock. Then I just got some oversized nuts to space the bottom mount up 1/2". This gave 1.5" of travel back and the ride is so much nicer. No more breaking my back over bumps!

I also bought moog p/n k700542 stabilizer bar end links and these have also improved my overall ride quality. $15 each at oreillys

Overall I spent less than $3 at the hardware store and about 30 minutes of my time.

This was with Kyb excel g shocks. This'll work for any shock however, hell I bet it'd improve ride quality of stock height trucks too.

I went with the extended Rancho shocks on mine.

I know some people complain about ride after a torsion bar crank but I have never had a problem with the ride after cranking the T-bar. I could not tell any difference before and after. I only lifted it 1.5" and maybe that is not enough to cause a problem. It is possible the Bilstein shocks have more travel also.

The ride never really bothered me I'm getting some coil overs and shocks for pre running before I tear the while suspension out so I'm not really worrying.

They also sell them on rockauto for $50 a piece

I put in longer shocks and now I have more downtravel that it maxes out my cvs and really puts strain on my half shaft seals at the front dif.
IFS blows. period. Unless you wanna spend the coin for the long travel set up, or are street wheeling your truck and get the ridiculously over priced Superlift, you basically have to do a BL or SAS to wheel these trucks.

Yeah Chudy I was gonna do an sas but it's my DD so I figured I'll just stick with the ifs for now, later on though when I get a car or something I'll retire the truck for a month or two and work on an sas.. D44 & ford 9"

I just took my sway bar out after maxing the t bars, smooth ride now, lol

How's Cornering Now Though?

I disconnect my sway bar sometimes when going of road. It works great until I get on the highway again. No sway bar in the corners feels kind of tippy. I just go slower around corners until I get the sway bar connected again.

I already did the trick with the nuts at the top of the shock, will have to look into doing the lower mount too.

And thanks for the tip on the sway bar links.
