Even with a snorkle, wont water go into the Tranny dipstick?

i dont think u would really want to go that deep in water to begin with, but you can always get a chevy locking dipstick with the rupper seal that tightens when you push down on the handle

if ur that deep in the water ur screwed anyways lol, dont wheel deep water with a auto

I don't wheel my truck, but I know of people who have ended up going into water that deep on accident, going through slightly more shallow water and ended up sliding or moving down to the deep end. But surprisingly they made it out with no water in their tranny line. Lots in the cab, though.

just barely there lucky, anytime u do deep water u flush the trans

there is a little gasket on the bottom side of the transmission dipstick. if the submersion only happened for a short time, its possible only a minimum amount of water would make it in.

but agreed that if your regularly seeing water that deep, more than a snorkel is going to be needed. most people running a snorkle only plan on water up to the top of the tire or so.

depends on the application. the M5OD is vented through the shifter tower...making it almost impossible to seal. the autos have a normal vent line that you can extend and reroute to keep it dry. as was already suggested, a locking dipstick would keep water out of an auto from that direction.
