Hey everybody,

My current ranger has a decent amount off rust on the frame and am wanting to purchase another ranger with a good body and a blown engine and swap out the engine of my current ranger.

With this I have 3 questions.
1. Can I easily swap the engine into a Mazda B-series?
2. Can I put a 3.0L V6 into a truck that had a 4 cylinder or the 4.0L V6 in it?
3. Can I easily swap a engine from a RWD to a 4x4?
4. If i can swap to a 4x4 will it under powered with a 3.0L V6?

yes, just use the electronics and motor mounts from your truck. BUT! your gona be stuck with your trans if its anything other than a 3.0

the 2.0/2.3/2.5 2001 and older 4 cyls share trans bolt patterns
the 2.8/2.9/4.0 share trans patterns
the 3.0 is unique and doesn't interchange with any other ranger motor.

im not sure if 4x4 trans is the same as a RWD one

The 2wd and 4wd are the same except for the out put shaft. The 2wd shaft is shorter and won't engage a transfer case.

If you find a 4x4 truck that had a 3.0 in it, you won't have any problems there. And no, it shouldn't be any more underpowered than it already is.
