Sounds like a possible problem in the Cold Idle Control Circuit - such as the Idle Air Control Valve not opening enough to keep it running in those conditions like just being started and driven in the winter.
You should be able to confirm my theory if, next time, you push the gas pedal a little and hold it there as you put in gear, if it stays running then, that's probably what it is - the valve being too cold to open fast enough for the changing load on the engine etc...
so is there any other way cleaning the iacv other than spraying it with carb cleaner and wiping it out with q-tips?
