Engine quit all of a sudden. Still turns over and have spark.

that'll do it every time...

So now that my timing is f-ed, what sort of problems could that have caused? Pistons hitting valves and such? How easy is setting timing? I'll read manual tonight

non interference engine, just line things up and put a new belt on, good to go, change again in about 100k miles

non-interference? i imagine that means things won't smack each other inside due to normal tolerances being big enough.

i'll be buying another belt and tearing apart the front of the truck over the next few days.

thanks!

yeah, means the pistons don't interfere with the valves when a timing belt brakes...

Well, timing belt is replaced and engine bay is all buttoned up temporarily until I have a few more hours to kill.

Definitely gonna need new plugs and wires. Front left spark plug had worked its way loose and had blowby that burned the inside of the spark plug cap. Crazy!

Also, there's some hesitation I can't figure out. Was there before belt snapped, but figure I should investigate further. Only guess so far is possible vacuum leak.
